Take the stress out of travelling with children on this fabulous winter holiday close to the Arctic Circle. Location is everything in Lapland, and we have found a gem for those big on expectation. Surrounded by lush forest and nestled beside beautiful rapids, yet just 15-minutes from Rovaniemi Airport, Vaattunki Wilderness Resort is the perfect place to enjoy pure nature whilst making lasting family memories.

Day 1
You will arrive at Vaattunki Wilderness Resort with plenty of time to explore your new surroundings before dinner this evening. Stay in a choice of riverside apartments, log cabin style family rooms or, for smaller families, the Panorama Huts with their huge panoramic window.

Day 2
As you awake to your first full day in Lapland, the fun begins right away with a husky safari, a ‘must do’ on any Lapland holiday! After enjoying this firm family favourite the rest of the afternoon is free for your own activities.  This evening a private family visit to the riverside sauna will be booked, where you can relax Finnish style.

Day 3
No family trip to Lapland would be complete without meeting 'the man himself' and, today you will do just that during a magical visit to the nearby Santa Claus Village. After meeting Santa spend some time exploring the Village and enjoy lunch before the fun continues with a snowmobile safari on the surrounding forest trails.  They will take you to a local reindeer farm where you will then meet the reindeer, feed them from your hand and take a short, but exciting, sleigh ride around the corral. After a fun -packed day, return to the resort with happy memories to last a lifetime.

Day 4
With no fixed agenda today, you are free to spend the day however you wish.  We are happy to add additional guided activities or you may prefer to just spend time having fun in the snow, borrow a sledge and head to the hill or try forest skiing and explore the resort trails. After dinner this evening your final outing takes you on a peaceful reindeer sleigh ride through the dark snow laden forests in search of the northern lights.

Day 5
Today marks the end of this suggested family break but your adventure doesn’t have to end there. You may choose to extend your stay in Lapland to visit other areas or spend time in the beautiful city of Helsinki on the way back home.
