Description

Take the stress out of travelling with children on this fabulous winter holiday close to the Arctic Circle. Location is everything in Lapland, and we have found a gem for those big on expectation. Surrounded by lush forest and nestled beside beautiful rapids, yet just 15-minutes from Rovaniemi Airport, Vaattunki Wilderness Resort is the perfect place to enjoy pure nature whilst making lasting family memories.

Day 1
You will arrive at Vaattunki Wilderness Resort with plenty of time to explore your new surroundings before dinner this evening. Stay in a choice of riverside apartments, log cabin style family rooms or, for smaller families, the Panorama Huts with their huge panoramic window.

Day 2
Awake to your first full day in Lapland and head out to explore. Watch the children as they frolic in the snow before heading out on your first adventure, a husky dog sled safari, a ‘must do’ on any Lapland holiday! After enjoying this firm family favourite, your afternoon is free for your own activities and, as evening falls, experience another Lappish pastime with a snowshoe hike to seek the Northern Lights.

Day 3
A trio of delights awaits today, starting with a snowmobile safari on the forest trails that surround Santa Claus Village. Then it’s on to meet the reindeer at a local farm where a short but exciting sleigh ride will delight the children. Finally, no family trip to Lapland would be complete without meeting 'the man himself' and, this afternoon, you will do just that during a magical visit to Santa Claus Village.

Day 4
If you choose the 4-day package, today you will transfer to the airport to depart Lapland.

With no agenda today, if you are choosing the 5-day package you are free to spend the day however you wish.  We are happy to add additional guided activities or you may prefer to just spend time having fun in the snow, borrow a sledge and head to the hill or try forest skiing and explore the resort trails. Snow fun can be exhausting so why not book time at the riverside sauna this evening for some private family relaxation.

Day 5
Today marks the end of this suggested family break but your adventure doesn’t have to end there. You may choose to extend your stay in Lapland to visit other areas or spend time in the beautiful city of Helsinki on the way back home.
