A true enthusiast's adventure trip to the pristine, wildlife rich South Luangwa National and the vast Bangweulu Floodplains bustling with birdlife and the enigmatic Shoebill Stork.

A short flight from Lusaka takes you into Mfuwe and the wilderness beyond. At the airport a warm welcome awaits you and road transfer into camp. South Luangwa National Park deserves it reputation for offering highly experienced guiding into remote reaches of the park to look for elusive leopard, lion and wild dog, then explore along the Luangwa River where hundred strong hippo pods jostle for the best spots in the river and the large dominant males protect their territory. Three days spent here will allow for plenty of game drives, walks and the essential sundowner.

Then leave South Luangwa behind and fly to Bangweulu Floodplains, a vast wetlands area in the northern sector of Zambia. Not only a remote wilderness known for rare black Lechwe, but a pure bird watchers paradise with many rare and exotic species. The star of the show however has to be the shoebill, a prehistoric looking stork rarely seen in any other area Africa. They start to return to the area in February, and right up until the end of July, the birds are generally easy to find by boat or on foot towards the end of the season when the water levels recede.
