Take this exciting option when staying in the Western Cape. Between the months of June and November the Southern Right Whale migrates along the coastline, particularly visible around the Hermanus area. These gentle giants cruise along the coastline stopping to rest and play so close to the shore that it is not essential to take to the water to view them. The official 'whale cryer' will let you know when the whales are close, offering some of the easiest marine wildlife viewing anywhere in the world.
This make a great stop for visitors to Cape Town or those driving along the Garden Route.
