Busanga Bush Camp

Busanga Bush Camp lies in the heart of the Busanga Plains in the northern sector of Kafue National Park. This safari camp is seasonal, opening as the waters recede in June until the rains come again in November. As the season progresses the grasslands dry out and teem with wildlife.

Busanga Bush Camp is a modest camp with just 4 en suite tents and an open plan common area that has a panoramic vista out over the plains from under a small grove of trees. There is also a dining boma and a raised viewing platform. The whole camp remains understated as befits its location in such an incredible area.

Activities are dependent on the season and can include boating early on, game drives, night drives, bird watching and from August onwards balloon safaris which are just awe inspiring. Our balloon safari passed over right in front of camp as you as you can see in one of the images above.

Isolated within the million hectares of Busanga Plains there is a special feeling about being in such a tremendous wilderness area with sister camp, the luxury Shumba the only other camp in this vast region. Both camps are run by Wilderness Safaris and form a major part of conservation efforts for these important grasslands.

If you want to experience raw Africa among 10,000+ puku and a similar number of red lechwe plus roan, wildebeest and many other ungulates; where herds of elephants are around 200 strong and the dynasties of lions are known then you should visit Busanga Bush Camp. You will be moved by this incredible area.
