WINTER ACTIVITY HOLIDAYS

A Great Year for the Northern Lights

This year will be a particularly good year for winter activity holidays especially if you are seeking the unique experience of the northern lights and thrilling adventures in the snow. You should jump at our ever popular short breaks now as sunspot activity is increasing and so the aurora borealis should give some incredible displays this winter.
Our competitive winter rates for next season are out now and include the best hospitality in northern Finland.

For those that enjoy a hot tub under the northern lights we have also expanded our choice of luxury short breaks in Iceland in response to your requests.

HOT DESTINATION -

COSTA RICA

Costa Rica is one of the most popular destinations for our clients. Many travel specifically for the wildlife and birding as well as rainforest adventures and relaxation on stunning beaches. We are able to find some first class combinations for tailor-made itineraries away from the main tourist locations and love it when we put together a new trip that gets us excited. To help inspire you we have added some of the best to our Costa Rica pages.

SUSTAINABLE TOURISM

A PAN Parks Initiative

Wildlife & Wilderness was invited to the Central Balkan of Bulgaria last year to help finalise a European-wide unique sustainable tourism initiative with PAN Parks. This is designed to help support the flora and fauna of Europe's wilderness areas. We have introduced a range of top quality guided tours to some of these protected areas as a fully recognised PAN Parks partner. These short breaks will give you opportunities to interact with researchers, enjoy wonderful nature on a variety of graded walks in some of the continent's best wild locations and also experience great local food and accommodation. You should contact us direct if interested.

Competition

PAN Parks campaign to raise awareness of Europe's hidden gems of nature, launched on 5 July, will give nature-lovers the chance to discover the treasures of excellent wilderness areas, the 11 certified PAN Parks around Europe. During a 11-week competition there are several prizes to be won through draws: weekly prizes of outdoor gear and the grand prize: one knowledgable and lucky winner will receive a trip to Majella National Park, Italy, to experience its wonders in person! You can enter here.

POLAR BEARS

After terrific success finding polar bears around the Svalbard archipelago last year, professional wildlife photographer, Andy Rouse, will be leading our photographic & wildlife cruise in these Arctic waters again in October 2011. There are still just a few places left to experience polar bear and walrus encounters in this stunning location. Interested in this dream destination? There is more information here.
