A short flight from Churchill takes you out to the tundra and to Seal River Heritage Lodge located in the heart of polar bear country. From here you can discover a fantastic variety of wildlife including beautiful white beluga whales that reside in the estuary during the summer months. Caribou, wolves, Arctic fox, Arctic hare, snowy owls and birds of prey may also be observed.

During this trip you will spend time with expert guides exploring the tundra on various wilderness adventures. Walking in bear country offers thrilling encounters and the colourful tundra pastures around the lodge are a favourite haunt for the majestic polar bears. Walking tours also allow for fantastic photo opportunities and some excellent bird watching.

You can also get up close and personal with thousands of Beluga whales. These white whales spend each summer in the Seal River estuary and for the ultimate wildlife encounter you'll have the opportunity to don a dry-suit and swim with these gentle mammals, a truly unforgettable experience.

Back at the lodge after a gourmet meal, evenings are spent recalling tales and learning more about life and nature in this remote region. During the later part of the season, as night falls, you may also be lucky enough to witness the majestic Aurora Borelais.

With no formal timeline or fixed daily programme, each trip offers a unique experience although you can expect to take part in marine tours, trekking, coastline explorations by buggy, ocean paddles and whale swims. What more could you ask for?
