Tucked away in a quiet corner of Finnish Lapland and surrounded by lakes and forest, a unique destination awaits. Originally a working reindeer farm dating back to the 1840's, today Torassieppi offers a nature friendly winter experience in a stunning fell region of Lapland.

During this week long break you will stay in traditionally styled accommodation and take part in non-motorised winter activities. However you will also have chance to indulge in Lappish culture and history, hone your culinary skills in a cooking class and discover the art of traditional handicraft making. With plenty of time to relax between activities you can also you can sit back in nature each evening at the lakeside sauna before indulging in hearty home-cooked organic fare prepared in the Torassieppi Kitchen.

Torassieppi also provides the perfect location for northern lights viewing being far from any light pollution, with magnificent uninterrupted views to the northern skies. Guided evening tours are available or you may just like to seek out the Aurora independently.

Day 1 Arrive Torassieppi
Fly from London Heathrow or Manchester via Helsinki to Lapland. You will be met on arrival and transferred to by road to Torassieppi. After settling into your accommodation make your way to the restaurant where a delicious dinner awaits.

Day 2 Local Culture and Handicrafts
Today you will meet the reindeer who make their home on this historical farm before visiting the reindeer museum and old manor house where an impressive array of memorabilia is on show. After a short reindeer sleigh ride, enjoy lunch by the fire in the traditional Lappish kota. This afternoon the culture continues as you learn to make a traditional Lappish handicraft called 'pirtanauha'.

Day 3 Cross Country Skiing and Cooking School
Today you will head out with your guide to cross country ski in the beautiful nature of Pallas National Park that borders Torassieppi. This afternoon the head chef will lead a cooking course using the very best local organic ingredients and the dishes prepared will be served at dinner this evening.

Day 4 Snowshoe Hike and Arctic Spa
This morning will take you to the largest fell area in West-Lapland where you will strap on your snowshoes, embrace the stillness of nature and hike to a higher vantage point for some truly outstanding views. Afterwards head to the Arctic Spa on the shores of Lake Jeris for a full afternoon of relaxation, be sure to try out the traditional Finnish smoke sauna.

Day 5 Husky Safari
Driving in teams of two you'll take turns at the helm as you head off though the snow covered forest on a 25 km safari, a truly memorable experience! Lunch is prepared and served along the way in true mushers style on the open fire before heading back toward Torassieppi where a warming sauna awaits.

Day 6 At lesiure in Lapland
Today you can do exactly as you choose, maybe engage in further activites or simply relax by the fire with a good book. The perfect end to your week in Lapland. This evening a farewell dinner will complete your Lappish experience.

Day 7 Depart Finland
After breakfast transfer to the airport for your return flight home.
