Description

This Uganda safari is gently paced to give a great week away in one of Africa's friendliest countries. You will see plenty of wildlife as you trek the magnificent gorillas and then travel to Lake Mburo where zebra, eland, buffalo, waterbuck, hippo are among some of the wildlife encountered. Shoebill stork can also been found here in the marshes.

Setting out from Kampala it is undeniably a long journey down to Bwindi but you will enjoy the ever changing scenery as you head to the hills and Bwindi Forest. There are close to 900 mountain gorillas left in the wild and around 400 reside in Bwindi Forest on the borders with Rwanda and the DRC. A day is spent tracking gorillas and on finding them you can quietly observe these powerful, gentle giants in their natural surroundings, eating, resting and playing in the forest. Sit within a few metres of them and indulge in sharing moments with these denizens of the montane forest. An unforgettable experience. All too soon it is time to trek back to camp and relax and reflect on your day.

The following day you drive back to Lake Mburo National Park where there is a good selection of safari lodge or tented camp. This is a very scenic park with plenty of wildlife although you will not find too many predators. An afternoon game drive should find a good number of species. The next morning it is possible to take a walking safari in the national park with a wildlife guide. A boat trip on Lake Mburo in the afternoon is a pleasant way to discover some more wildlife.

After a final morning game drive, it is time to return to Entebbe airport in time to connect with your return flight overnight back to the UK or Europe.
