Description

On this self-drive safari you will visit some of the key sights in the country. This trip starts with a journey to the edge of the Namib-Naukluft National Park to see the highest dunes in the world at Sossusvlei. After climbing some of the dunes or entering Dead Vlei you will enjoy an outdoor breakfast. Your journey continues across the Welwitschia plains and through a moon-like landscape to reach the coastal town of Swakopmund.

You travel north the following day, heading up the Skeleton Coast to see the Cape Fur Seal colonies. Inland you enter the stunning scenery of Damaraland and will stay and the friendly, community run Damaraland Camp. From the camp you can search for desert-adapted elephants and other wildlife that congregates in the Huab River. From here you will continue to the rock engravings of Twyfelfontein before reaching Ongava Tented Camp on the edge of the Etosha National Park.

Ongava offers the chance of good wildlife viewing including White Rhino on the reserve. The waterholes of the national park are also a highlight and can be further explored from Mushara Lodge to the east of this special park. The leopards and cheetah of Okonjima sanctuary are a final highlight before returning to Windhoek.
