Travel Insurance

At Wildlife & Wilderness we believe that your safety and holiday enjoyment are very important. Therefore comprehensive travel insurance is a must whenever you travel abroad, particularly into many of the areas in which we operate. We have arranged a comprehensive travel insurance underwritten by AXA Insurance (UK) Plc through specialist Insurance Brokers, Campbell Irvine.

Please note:

  • that if you choose not to take our recommended insurance then we require details (Insurers & Emergency Contact. Tel. No.) of your alternative policy and confirmation that it provides the cover which is as comprehensive as our own.

  • Cover is excluded for any pre-existing medical conditions from which you, or any person upon whom travel depends, such as a relative, is suffering. If in doubt call our medical helpline, in confidence on 0870 906 3140

  • Our single trip and annual multi-trip policies are available to anybody no matter what nationality or where you live in the world.

    ABI Code of Practice:

Before you purchase this insurance we are requested to bring to your attention a number of important aspects concerning this travel insurance.

    Health

The Insurance contains conditions that relate to your health and that of others not necessarily travelling with you but upon whose well being the trip may depend. In particular, pre existing medical problems are not covered unless the Medical Helpline is contacted on: 0870 906 3140

    Conditions, Exclusions and Warranties

These limit or restrict the cover provided. Some apply to all sections of the insurance whilst others only apply to specific sections.

    Claims for Personal Baggage

This Insurance does not provide cover on a 'new for old' basis, which means that deductions for age, wear and tear will be made where appropriate.

    Sums Insured or Limits

All sections of the Insurance have a limit on the amount the Insurer will pay. Some sections have internal limits such as the amount the Insurer will pay for any one item or the amount of all valuables (including photographic equipment)

    Excesses

Under most sections of the Insurance, claims will be subject to an excess of £50. This means you will be responsible for paying part of the claim.

    Reasonable Care

You are required to take all reasonable care of yourself and your property and to act at all times as though you are not insured.

    Policy Document

This contains the full details of what is and is not covered. Please read it carefully to ensure you understand the cover provided. Should you wish a specimen, a copy will be made available prior to purchase upon request.

    Complaints

This Insurance contains a procedure which you should follow if you wish to make a complaint.

    Date Recognition Failure

The Insurance contains an exclusion for some losses arising from the failure of equipment to correctly recognise the calendar date, such as the change to the year 2000.

    High Risk Activities

The Insurance may not cover you when you take part in certain activities not organised through Wildlife & Wilderness. You must check that the Insurance covers your requirements.

    "Cooling Off Period"

If the Insurance does not meet your requirements you may return the documentation within 14 days of the purchase or prior to travel if this is sooner and, provided no claim has been made, obtain a refund.

    Jurisdiction

The Insurance will be subject to English Law unless otherwise agreed.
