Highlights: Discovering the magic of winter in Lapland - reindeer & horse sleigh rides - husky dog sled tour - your own cosy log cabin with sauna

Day 1.
A flight via Helsinki takes you Rovaniemi, capital of Finnish Lapland. From here it is a short transfer to the village of Luosto. You will have dinner in a large lodge lodge and settle in to overnight in a cosy log cabin complete with a fireplace and sauna.

Day 2.
After breakfast you can pick up your winter equipment which you can keep for the duration of your stay. Walking around the small village you will easily become familiar with the Luosto area. You will find a small mini-market and some restaurants in the area, ski lifts and ski tracks are very close and there is also a small gym and spa.
In the afternoon transfer by car to local reindeer park, in Lapland there are more reindeer than people! You will learn about this traditional animal and have a peaceful ride in caravan of sleighs pulled by reindeer. Enjoy a warming coffee break before returning back to Luosto by car.
Rest of the day at leisure, perhaps to try cross-country or downhill skiing. Dinner and overnight.

Day 3.
Today you transfer to a husky farm where dozens of friendly huskies are welcoming you! If huskies could talk, they would yell every time when the safari begins "me too, me too!". All the dogs are than anxious to join the safari, so you can imagine the noise when the safari begins when all the 120 sled-dogs would like to join your safari!
There are always 2 persons per husky team with children seated and adults driving after some instruction. The ride is for around 1 hour and afterwards you will enjoy fried sausages and hot beverages before returing back to Luosto. Afternoon at leisure. Dinner and overnight. Keep your eyes open of a night time to try and see the spectacular phenomenon of the northern lights.

Day 4.
Today transfer to the local horse centre where you will become familiar with local Finn horse, a native breed of Finland. Throughout the centuries in the harsh forest pastures on the north it has developed into a tenacious companion, sure on its feet, safe at work and for recreational activities. In a traditional open one-horse sleigh you will have a ride in the forest where you can really feel the stillness of nature. After about an hour ride in the sleigh you will fry sausages on the open fire and enjoy hot beverages with home made pastries. Later return to Luosto for a last afternoon at leisure.

Day 5.
This morning there is a little free time before transfer back to the airport.

Other winter activities and/or additional days can be included at an additional cost

This programme can be adapted for couples travelling without children.
