Ecuador & the Galapagos Islands

The Galapagos Islands enabled Charles Darwin to formulate the 'Origin of Species' and as a consequence, Ecuador is firmly on the world natural history map. We highly recommend cruises to the Galapagos Islands on one of the smaller vessels to explore these islands. Guiding is excellent but it is the closeness to the spectacular wildlife that makes holidays to the Galapagos so wonderful.

The mainland is scenically beautiful and an Ecuador tour can be incredibly diverse from a tropical coast through snow-capped volcanoes and down into the rainforests of the Amazon basin. Above all, for the naturalist it is the incredible bio-diversity generated by the geography of this small country that makes Ecuador holidays so enjoyable. You may also discover the colonial architecture that abounds and perhaps stay in some of the stunning haciendas.
