Manda BayLocation: Lamu Manda Bay is beach retreat located on the ocean side of Manda Island in the Lamu Archipelago. It consists of ten cottages constructed from local materials. Five of the rooms are set right on the seafront and five are set in-between and slightly behind on higher ground. All rooms have large ceiling fans and en suite bathrooms. There is a central dining room and bar area featuring locally crafted Lamu furniture and overlooking the bay is a separate secluded lounge area perfect for unwinding over an ocean sundowner. The lodge has its own 60 foot traditional dhow and overnight cruises can be arranged, exploring the uninhabited islands of this fascinating archipelago. With the owners often in residence, your are assured discreet and attentive personal attention. Cuisine naturally features a marine flavour but meals are designed to fit with guests requirements. Enjoy unwinding at the end of a safari, or escape the UK just to relax in the warmth. Families enjoy Manda Bay with its gently sloping beaches and easy, safe snorkelling where the water is warm, gentle and clear. Activities include visiting ancient ruins, snorkelling and deep sea fishing for marlin or sailfish but mostly Manda Bay is about relaxation. |
