Tucked away in a corner of Finnish Lapland, on the edge of a lake and surrounded by forest sits a unique destination, Torassieppi - a cabin village, reindeer farm and museum, husky farm and Winter Village. With 8 rustic cabins and 8 guest rooms you are ensured not only an authentic stay but also an uncrowded and intimate experience. Sleeping up to 6 people, 3 of the cabins boast a private sauna and fireplace whilst the remaining 5 smaller cabins feature a fireplace and cater for up to 4 people. Whilst the 8 en suite rooms complete the traditional accommodation options Torassieppi also boasts a Winter Village where guests can spend the night in a snow igloo and, brand new for winter 2015-16, the 2 brand new Aurora Domes offer a unique glamping experience under the northern night skies.
Traditional Finnish food, made from local and organic ingredients, is served daily in the Torassieppi Restaurant and the evening menu includes specialties such as reindeer meat, local fish, berries and mushrooms. Throughout the day a variety of sandwiches and refreshments are available.
Spend your days living like the locals as you mingle with the reindeer, discover the landscapes by snowshoe, cross country ski or husky safari. Wander around the winter village and enjoy a drink at the ice bar or visit the snow chapel. As darkness falls guests are welcome to relax in the lakeside saunas. The vast long lake provides stunning panoramic views to the north and due to Torassieppi's remote location with little light pollution close to Yllas-Pallas National Park this is arguably one of the best places in Finnish Lapland from which to witness the Northern Lights.
